The Road Department's annual spring brush chipping begins Monday, April 17, and ends on Friday, April 28. The Road Department asks residents to follow these brush chipping guidelines:

· Tree trimmings only: No vines, lumber, wire, or other debris. Trimmings which include vines will not be picked up. 

· Small twigs and sticks are a safety hazard to the road crew. As a safety precaution, trimmings less than 4 feet in length must be bundled or put into containers such as trash cans or yard waste bags. Containers must be free of dirt, lumber, wire, trash, or other debris. 

· Trees and bushes with roots cannot go through the chipper machine. Roots must be removed and processed through other composting programs. 

· All trimmings should be piled in an organized manner with cut ends facing the same direction. Please pile trimmings in your yard next to the curb or at the end of your driveway. Township employees will not enter private property to collect trimmings. 

· Trimmings should not be piled near parked cars due to the risk of scratching the vehicle. Trimmings deemed too close to parked cars will not be picked up.

· The chipper machine will accept branches with a maximum diameter of 8 inches. There is no maximum length. 

· This is not a yard waste removal service. Yard waste, such as grass clippings and leaves, should be placed in containers for pick up by Rumpke on Fridays.
