[ARCHIVED] Winter Storm & Snow Removal

The National Weather Service forecasts several inches of snow Saturday night to Sunday evening during the upcoming winter storm.

The Road Department asks residents DO NOT to park in the street this weekend so that snowplows have plenty of room to work. The Road Crew needs the street to be clear of obstructions to safely maneuver their trucks and remove snow.

We ask that parents and guardians remind children to stay back from the edge of the roadway and away from snow piles being pushed by plow trucks. Snowplow operators work in low visibility conditions which makes it difficult to see children near the street or in snowbanks. Please make sure children move away from the roadway if they hear or see a snowplow approaching.

Additionally, please DO NOT push snow from your driveway into the road. ORC § 4511.74 prohibits placing obstructions or injurious substances on highways without authority, which includes large piles of snow.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience as our crews work to keep roads safe and passable throughout the storm.
