Following a distinguished 7-year career, K9 Coyle hung up his badge 2025 and is enjoying his retirement at home.  

The Perry Township K9 Unit now consists of K9 Mushu and his handler Detective Charles Mills. Mushu is a specialty K9, which means he is trained in explosives/odor and tracking but does not perform any apprehension or other patrol functions. 

In addition to assisting patrol and other agencies, the K9 unit attends many events in Perry Township, including National Night Out, Beggars Night and 4th of July Parade where he participates in checking of floats and other parade units.
